Prelude to a WHO SHOT MAMBA?

Look, I know what you’re thinking: how exactly did someone come up with this? I’ll tell you this – I ask the same question to everyone I meet, and I wrote it.

In any case, Mamba’s creation was by no means organic, and wasn’t written in the traditional, “Have Idea –> Write Script” style of script construction. The facts are as follows:

1) I used to write a comedic basketball website called YAYsports! NBA that in its prime, was quite popular.

2) In May 2006, I decided to make a 5-minute short film utilizing a couple of the more eclectic elements/bits from the site. This alleged short would be called Who Shot Mamba?.

3) As I wrote the script, I started weaving more and more things from the site into it, and suddenly I had a full-length feature.

The actual production of the film is a story-and-a-half, and I hope WSM? is successful enough to tell it one day. I did include a basic making-of time-line in the back of this book.

Back to the book – it’s really just a bunch of entries explaining, “This is how Element X from the website became Element Y in the movie”.

If you haven’t watched the film yet – don’t worry, there are no spoilers. If you have seen the movie – assuming you liked it – this 30-page wonder will be a quick and entertaining read.
